Barton County: Golden City, Lamar, Liberal, Mindenmines and Local Villages

Barton County Missouri
4th Congressional District
Jack Truman for U.S. Congress

There's no place like home.

I think it's important to bring something back to my hometown community here in Missouri. Where I grew up. Was raised. Went to school. Own property. And call home.

There's a lot of history here in Barton County Missouri. This is one of 26 counties in the 4th Congressional District of Missouri that I'm running for U.S. Congress in 2016.

You can't get much more rural and down home than here in Barton County. The total population here in Barton County is a little over 12,000 people. And it feels like everyone's right here in your backyard. Good morals. Good values. Good small town living.

A little history and facts about my hometown county:

Barton County Missouri started back in 1879.

Harry S. Truman was born here in 1884.

Several towns, villages and what they call unincorporated towns make up Barton County in Southwest Missouri:

Towns:

Golden City
Lamar
Liberal
Mindenmines

Villages:

Burgess
Lamar Heights
Milford

Unincorporated Towns:

Boston
Dublin
Iantha
Irwin
Kenoma
Nashville

A lot of issues that need to be addressed relate more than ever to small town rural America. And Barton County is no exception.

Taking care of our Farmers. Veterans. Senior Citizens. Children. Taking care of our own here domestically, and focusing on the little man and woman. The rural communities are our roots. Where everything got started. And it's time to get back to some basic hometown values and traditions.

It's time for a political revolution.
