Terrorism, Homeland Security and the 2nd Amendment

Jack Truman for U.S. Congress

Bernie Sanders is my political role model. Quoting Bernie, I want to say:

Are you ready for a radical idea?

It's time for a political revolution.

This week it's all about Terrorism, Homeland Security and the 2nd Amendment.

Usually when people think about terrorism, they think about international terrorism with foreign terrorists. But as a country, we have a much bigger problem with domestic terrorism. Looking at things like the Oklahoma City bombing, the school shootings that started with Columbine, the public places like movie theaters where mass shootings take place, there's constant domestic terrorism going on in America. This is where our focus as a country has to change.

Homeland Security has not done the job that was intended. Since 9/11, all of the hundreds of millions and billions of dollars spent for Homeland Security hasn't stopped people being found with weapons on planes or when they get off planes. Instead of blowing millions of dollars a year on Homeland Security, that money needs to be taken and spent on the next project: changing and protecting the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment is where we need to do a lot of work. Americans have the right to bear arms. But when the old white guys over 250 years ago wrote our Constitution, they never wrote it with the vision of assault weapons in mind with the future. Back in those days, you had single shot guns that you had to put gunpowder in to protect yourself in duels, wars and such. This culture is going back to the Wild West days by allowing weapons in schools, government buildings and the public. Instead of this, we need to change and amend the 2nd amendment to ban all assault weapons, and still allow guns in the home for protection. By banning assault weapons, terrorism would reduce, Homeland Security wouldn't be needed the way it is now, and gun violence wouldn't be as rampant in our country.

Terrorism, Homeland Security and the 2nd Amendment.

They're all linked together.

It's time for a change.
It's time for a political revolution.
